Overview

My vision for Columbus is Economic Opportunity, Community Prosperity, and Accountable Leadership that LISTENS. This does not happen overnight. The only way to make my vision a reality is a holistic strategy that serves the entire community. We need to prioritize the fundamentals of Local Government, like our Park and Recreation Department and our Business Licensing and Permitting Departments. If we do the small things exceptionally, we will be able to handle any obstacles in our path!

PUBLIC SAFETY

 

We all agree public safety is a top priority. We need to feel safe in our neighborhoods. We should be confident and secure in the knowledge the Columbus Consolidated Government is working on our behalf to create safe and sustainable communities.

 

Columbus needs to build off the success our law enforcement has had over the last 2 years. We have made tremendous progress lowering our crime rate through increased community policing, fully staffing our Police Department, and upgrading our officers equipment and training. As your next Mayor I will continue these positive trends by working on our policing and continuing to create relationships in the community.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

 

As a small business owner, I know what drives the Columbus economy. Having navigated the challenges necessary to open and operate a business here, I recognize the rules and regulations can be intimidating for those new to the process. I’m committed to simplifying the processes and procedures that make owning a small business difficult in Columbus. I will work to remove the barriers to economic prosperity that divide our community.

 

We need efficient licensing and permitting, as well as improved community partnerships to help spur economic development. Big companies being based in Columbus is a blessing to our community and we need to continue to support them, as well as, focus on supporting our local small businesses.

As your next Mayor, I will move our City's Government forward by creating online resources for business licensing and permitting departments.

INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

 

There is no getting around the fact that Columbus has major infrastructure issues. Over the next 5 years we will have to address growing problems with our Jail and Recreation Centers. Our next Mayor will have to lead with vision and creativity to navigate the precarious scenario that Columbus faces.

 

As your next Mayor I will work to improve the efficiency of our City. I will work to streamline an effective City-Wide maintenance schedule for our public buildings, roads, and recreation facilities. If we maintain and repair our existing infrastructure, we can save taxpayers from funding massive new projects that weigh down our City’s finances. I know Columbus has a lot on the horizon and I will work tirelessly to ensure better future for our City.
